Looking for some book inspiration? Here are some suggested reads for October!

These books have been on the New York Times Bestseller List and at the top of the Millstadt Library's most circulated list. At the end of these lists, Nichole picks a book or two that she personally recommends.

We just reviewed Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay and are reading So Far Gone by Jeff Lindsay for our next Senior Center Book Club meeting on Monday, October 20 at 11 a.m.

Without further ado, here are this month's picks!

Twice by Mitch Albom

The Black Wolf by Louise Penny

NICHOLE'S RECOMMENDATIONS

The third title in the Sworn Soldiers series by T. Kingfisher fits perfect into the already set universe Kingfisher has created. In What Stalks the Deep, our protagonist finds themself being shipped off to America.

As in the other Sworn Soldiers books, Kingfisher writes with wit and sarcasm that makes Alex Easton an incredibly enjoyable character to follow. Easton is also relatable with their penchant for forcing themself to do the things they don't want to because the guilt otherwise would eat at them.

Try this short, gothic read for some fun diversion. I know I'll be reading the next installment.

What Stalks the Deep by T. Kingfisher
